Waco man arrested after making threats against La Vega High School on social media

BELMED, TX (KWTX) – Authorities in Central Texas arrested Benjamin Walton, 20, of Waco, after a threat was posted on social media Wednesday, Oct. 19, against La Vega High School.

The day before, Walton was reportedly seen inside a car wearing a mask in the parking lot of a La Vega ISD school. Officers confronted him and he reportedly walked out without incident.

A social media post threatened to harm students at La Vega High School on Wednesday. The police eventually learned that Walton was the person behind the threat.

Bellmead Police officers located Walton at a residence on 4th Street in Waco and the man was taken into custody.
