JASPER COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) – Two people were killed in a crash in Jasper County early Wednesday morning. Sheriff Randy Johnson said the incident happened around 7 a.m. on County Road 39 between Vossburg and Paulding.
Johnson said the two men who died were walking westbound when they hit the car of a young woman who she told the sheriff was on her way to school. The injured girl was taken to the hospital.
Sheriff Johnson said UMMC’s AirCare was called, but the person who was supposed to be airlifted died before he could be airlifted.
Johnson said it was one of the scariest collisions he’s ever seen. Names were not immediately available pending family notification.
