FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Happy Thursday!
We are off to a really chilly start to the morning, with temperatures dropping to or below freezing. A freeze warning is in effect for our entire area until 10am. Today will probably be the first day of the fall season that we officially get below freezing in Columbus, which is right on track. In the last 20 years, we hit our first freezing temperature anywhere from October 3rd to November 23rd, with an average first date of October 26th. We’ll have a cool breeze throughout the morning with light breezes, but by this afternoon, highs will be in the low to mid 50s. We will also have a lot of cloud cover during the day.
For Friday, expect more sun and rising temperatures! Highs will be very seasonal, with highs in the mid to upper 60s. The breeze will be fairly light throughout the day. It will be the 10th straight week of dry weather for Friday Night Football, with temperatures starting in the low 60s at kickoff and cooling into the low to mid-50s as the games wind down.
We continue with great weather into the weekend, with sunshine both Saturday and Sunday, and highs reaching the low to mid 70s.
Heading into the first week of next week, temperatures are in the mid-70s for Monday, but clouds are beginning to increase. Then we’ll see our next shot of a few rain showers Tuesday through Wednesday.
