The Central Coast Airfest wraps up after a weekend of flying

The Central Coast Airfest concluded on Sunday, October 16.

The air show featured aircraft from old warbirds to air force fighter jets and military and aerobatic demonstrations.

Santa Maria resident Janelle Kemlo said her favorite part of Airfest was seeing how close the planes got to the crowds.

“It was really cool. You can’t hear anything is probably the best part. It’s just like it’s so cool when it shakes your chest,” Kemlo said.

Eric Cabrera and his family drove from Oceana to watch the planes fly.

“The best part of the whole air show is just watching everyone do all the stunts, the food, the people, the vendors, seeing all these different planes from the old ones to the newest planes. It’s pretty cool,” Cabrera said.

This was the Cabrera family’s first time attending Airfest, though they said it won’t be their last.
