KILIN, Texas (KWTX) – A A junior at Patterson Middle School and a sophomore at Chaparral Middle School have been charged with making terroristic threats, a third-degree felony, after the Killeen Independent School District learned of a “potential Instagram threat” against three of its campuses .
The school district received anonymous tips about the threat around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night.
The school district’s police department investigated the threat overnight and determined it was not credible.
By Monday morning, police had a list of possible suspects, and the two students were eventually arrested and taken to juvenile detention.
“Killeen ISD takes all threats seriously and will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law,” the school district said in a news release, “The safety of everyone on campus is always our top priority and no threat like this will ever be tolerated. to be”.
