St. Pete man charged with DUI after crashing into restaurant, police say

LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) – The Largo Police Department arrested a man Friday night after he allegedly entered a restaurant while intoxicated.

The arrest document states around 6:10 p.m., Robert Allen Schultz, 55, of St. Petersburg, pulled into the parking lot of the Winghouse Bar and Grill in Largo.

However, police said Schultz failed to stop the vehicle and crashed into a building, damaging a fence and a front window.

A restaurant employee identified Schultz as the driver after seeing the crash, according to the report.

When officers made contact, Schultz showed few signs of impairment and had a blood alcohol level of about twice the legal limit.

According to the report, Schultz admitted to drinking “about 3 beers and 2 mixed drinks” before driving.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated – traffic accident and booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
