Spotty PM shower today, dry and less humid sunshine.

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — It’s a calm and mild start to the weekend with temperatures in the 70s this morning. Mostly sunny skies will allow temperatures to quickly warm into the mid to upper 80s this afternoon.

You will notice moisture today and with enough moisture there is a 30% chance of rain in the afternoon and evening. Showers will develop after 2:00 PM, and a few thunderstorms could hang around until around 8:00 or 9:00 PM tonight.

After that, drier air will mix further south, leading to a more pleasant start and cooler temperatures for Sunday morning. Most of us will start out in the upper 60s with a slightly drier feel in the air for the second half of the weekend.

It’s still a warm Sunday afternoon with highs in the upper 80s, but we’re staying dry.

A strong cold front will move through Tuesday with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Behind the front, some much cooler air will move in and settle into the Tampa Bay area for several days. Highs will be about 10° below average in the low to mid 70s, and those morning lows will be in the mid to upper 50s in most places.

The tropics remain relatively calm. Karl is now a post-tropical system as it has moved into Mexico. The National Hurricane Center is also tracking the disturbance off the coast of Africa and giving it just a 10% chance of developing in the next 5 days.
