A parenting faux pas? Christine Brown broke how her and Kody Brownyoungest daughter, Indeedthey found out about their split in the last episode Sister Wives.
“Let the older kids know I’m leaving Kody,” Kristin, 50, said during Sunday’s Oct. 16 episode of the TLC series. “I really want Kody and I to say Truely together. I want him to see us as a team.”
The Utah native went public with her split from Kody, 53, in November 2021 after more than 25 years together. The couple, who were spiritually married in 1994, share six children: a son Paedon23 years and daughters Aspyn27, Mykelti26, Gwendlyn20, Ysabel19 and Indeed, 12.
During the 17th season Sister Wiveswhich was filmed in the spring and summer of 2021, fans saw Christine tell her fellow sisters, Mary Brown, Janelle Brown and Robyn Brownon termination.
“I feel hostile toward me,” Kody told the cameras during Sunday’s episode, referring to Kristina’s choice to leave Arizona and take Truely with her. “I feel like she did this as a backstab. It seems really, really rushed.”
Christine, however, insisted that Kody had known for months about her aim to move in September 2021 – their daughter Truely had yet to be informed of the life change.
“My life is in limbo right now. Kody is not ready to tell Truly,” she explained during the confessional, noting that she wanted to “play nice” with her ex-spouse because they will be “parenting Truely for the rest of her life.”
Unfortunately, neither Christine nor Kody have figured out when and how they’re going to tell Truely they’re breaking up. Christine revealed on Sunday that her youngest child had been talking to daughter Mykelti about moving to Utah, so she had to break the news to Truely without Kody’s blessing.
“I just said the hardest thing to my little girl and I don’t know what else to say,” Christine said at the confessional while holding back tears. “I just know that I will remember this day for the rest of my life as the day I broke Truely’s heart.”
She later recalled the conversation, saying, “It was horrible. I felt like a pretty rough mom today.”
Amid his drama with Christine, Kody also had to deal with the fact that second wife Janelle, 53, had moved her van to the family’s Coyote Pass property. Although he was aware of her decision, he still wasn’t ready to stay in such a small space while visiting Janelle and their youngest daughter, Savannah.
“I’m not kicking and screaming, but it wasn’t a choice for me,” the Wyoming native told the cameras, adding, “None of us want to live in an RV.”
Sister Wives airs on TLC Sundays at 10:00 PM ET.
