EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) – The State of the City happens once a year, and this time around the city talks about the budget and its plans to make the community a safer place to live.
Mayor Tomáš Oliva says the city has a lot of potential.
“We’ve grown a lot in the city, a lot of businesses are coming in, there are preliminary plans for development,” he said.
The address includes information about El Centro’s budget, significant projects that will be completed in the coming months, and even important issues of concern to the community.
Oliva says homelessness is one of those issues.
“Whether it’s mental health or emotional health, it’s got to be addressed first before you house somebody and expect them to come back,” he said.
KYMA KECY is committed to providing a forum for civil and constructive discussion.
