Pikes Peak Area agency to assist individuals during Medicare Open Enrollment

DENVER — Adults 65 and older want to keep Oct. 15 on their calendars. The Medicare open enrollment period begins on October 15 and will be open until December 7, 2022.

Medicare is a federal insurance program for Americans over age 65 or those who qualify based on disability.

During this open enrollment period, adults will have the opportunity not only for the first time. In addition, adults who are already enrolled will have the opportunity to change their current Medicare prescription drug coverage or a Medicare Advantage plan for the following year.

Qualified adults do not need to do this process themselves. The Pikes Peak Area Agency on Aging will be on call to assist adults who apply Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Counselors through the State Health Insurance Program PPAAA are available by appointment, and these appointments can be made by calling (719) 471-2096 or (888) 696-7213.

Advisors through the National Health Insurance Program will not sell or endorse any company when they are meeting with you.

All counselors are trained and certified by Colorado Division of Insurance and by Medicare and take an independent objective view when finding a plan that fits your needs.
