The Rainbow Fire and Water District is asking voters to renew a local option fee to maintain fire protection services.
County voters on the Nov. 8 ballot to renew the five-year contract. The levy, along with their regular rate, will pay for the district’s fire services contract with Eugene Springfield Fire, according to Superintendent Jamie Porter.
“Our historical fixed rate levels are insufficient to pay the full amount of the contract,” Porter said. “We appreciate the services provided by Eugene Springfield Fire. The continued support of this payment will allow us to maintain a high level of service.”
The ballot measure would renew a measure first passed in 2017. Its current iteration expires in 2024.
