Nob Hill wall remains standing after council vote

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – A wall put up by a Nob Hill homeowner will remain after a vote by Albuquerque city councilors. Homeowner Samuel Reynolds installed a front wall at his home in Brockmont near Lomas and Washington.

But the zoning rule for the area says that a wall taller than three feet is only allowed if more than 20% of the houses on the block have them. The zoning examiner approved the wall, saying it met the requirements. The Nob Hill Neighborhood Association disagrees and says the calculations were wrong.

One city councilor suggested it was time for a bigger conversation on the issue, but councilors disagreed. They voted to accept the recommendations as they are, so the wall will remain.
