The Queen radio host announced her pregnancy news two months before her baby boy’s arrival. “#Preggers. Love. Marriage. Baby carriage,” Minaj captioned her July 2020 debut on Instagram. “Full of excitement and gratitude. Thank you all for the good wishes.”
After giving birth to her child, Minaj revealed his gender but withheld his name. The songwriter has yet to reveal her and her husband’s name, Kenneth Pettychose as a toddler.
The couple got married in October 2019. They previously dated as teenagers and got back together in 2018. “Nicki is absolutely in love with Kenny,” a source exclusively said Us Weekly in that time. “She fell hard and fast. She hasn’t smiled this much in a long time.”
Minaj was “over the moon” to start a family with the New York native, another insider exclusively said Us 2020. “She wanted to be a mother for a long, long time,” the source said.
In fact, the actress said in 2014 that she felt she was “brought here to be a mother” one day.
“[My biggest fear] is that I will become so absorbed in work that I will forget to live my personal life to the fullest,” explained the Grammy nominee for Complex in that time. “If I finish my fifth album and I don’t have a child by then, no matter how much money I have, I would be disappointed. … I will definitely get married before I have a child. I want to make sure I do it in that order. I’ve always felt that way since I was little; my mother always put it in my head.”
The “Moment 4 Life” singer then added, “I’ve always said, ‘When I have a baby, it’s going to be all about my baby.’ I don’t want the child to feel like he doesn’t have my full attention, so I always said, ‘I’m going to take a break.’ But we’ll see.”
