MCC is hosting the Queen City Relay for Life and Street Strut this Saturday

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – Get ready to look like you mean it, as Meridian Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa honor society hosts the City Queen Relay for Life and Street Strut.

The event includes a 5K run or walk, a 1-mile fun run, a street race and much more to celebrate breast cancer survivors.

Event organizers, Phyllis Holladay, encourage people to come and enjoy the event.

“The street bar is our favorite part of the day and the event. That’s where survivors or anyone can decorate an umbrella in memory of or in honor of a breast cancer survivor and they literally strut their stuff to the music and we have judges. We have lots of prizes. we have a derby. You can buy a t-shirt. It’s just a fun, fun, fun day to celebrate breast cancer awareness and all the people who have battled it,” Holladay said.

Race day registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk begins at 8 a.m. The one-mile run/walk begins at 9 a.m., followed by a street race.

All proceeds benefit the Anderson Cancer Foundation.
