Las Vegas, Nev. (FOX5) – Officer Truong Tai is the fourth Las Vegas Police Department death row in two years. The widows of two of those officers are helping to organize a fundraiser for the Thai family.
“It is devastating. It brings back so many emotions of that day for me… Seeing the march they did for the Thai officer, it takes you back,” Krista Swanger shared.

Officer Jason Swanger passed away on June 24, 2021. Swanger and Lt. Eric Lloyd contracted COVID in the line of duty and died from complications.
Krista Swanger told FOX5 that her husband is her hero.
“He loved being a police officer. He loved his family immensely,” Swanger said.
Every time an officer loses his life, it affects other families of fallen officers.
“Just knowing what this family is going through for the next year, the next two years… there are so many ups and downs and it’s painful to wake up every day and not have your loved one by your side,” Swanger said. .

according to Metro website in memory of the fallen officers, 27 people lost their lives in the line of duty in Las Vegas.
Officer Justin Terry died earlier this year when a log fell on his car at 95.

Officer Ty is added to the page as the 28th line of service deaths.

Swanger argues that those who made the ultimate sacrifice should never be forgotten.
Swanger said, “There’s so much negativity towards police officers and it’s amazing to see the community come together and really support them…It warms my heart to see all the people who really care about police officers. It means the world to the family.
The Nevada Coin Mart will host a fundraiser for the Thai family on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All proceeds go to the Thai officer’s family.
A candlelight vigil will also be held for the Thai officer on Saturday. This vigil will be held at Sunset Park in Pavilion “F”. It starts at 18:00
