LINCOLN, Neb. (COLON) – Lincoln Fire and Rescue is battling a two-alarm fire at the Garber Point Apartments in northwest Lincoln early Monday morning.
At the scene, LFR Public Information Officer Capt. Nancy Crist said heavy fire was coming from the side of one of the units in the complex near 1st and Garber.
All residents were able to be evacuated safely. No one was hurt.
Finally, fire brigades managed to extinguish the flames.
Many people were displaced from their homes, but Chris could not say how many immediately after the fire.
North 1st Street is closed at Nance Avenue while firefighters remain on the scene. It has since reopened.
The causes of the fire and the amount of damage are under investigation.
