Letter Beach Clam Festival is back

The 76th annual Pismo Beach Clam Festival returns this year and will run from Friday, October 14th through Sunday, October 16th.

A community tradition since 1946, festival goers can expect a parade of local organizations, vendors and food trucks.

On Friday, October 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., visitors can enjoy the Shellfish Festival’s Wine Walk. Wine walks are partnered with local businesses to give people the opportunity to taste beer, wines and meet the businesses.

This family-friendly weekend event includes the Shellfish Festival Parade on Saturday, October 15 at 10am. Participants can meet on Price Street for a free parade under the sea.

On Saturday morning, Esteem Surf Shop will host a surf contest and on Sunday, the annual Clam Dig for children 11 and under will take place.

Saturday’s Best Homemade Chowder Contest is a crowd favorite where local Pismo Beach restaurants get the chance to compete for the title of “Best Local Chowder” winner.

The clam chowder competition will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m

The organizers say that this event sells out earlier every year. Tickets are $25 and participants will receive a 2oz serving of soup from up to 10 local restaurants.

There will also be a free children’s zone on the Pismo promenade.
