The Lee County School District has revealed that 36 schools will be open for students on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
Alva School, Bayshore Elementary, Lehigh Acres Middle and Treeline Elementary were added to the list of schools ready to open Wednesday.
The 36 schools that were cleared to return on Wednesday are as follows:

Schools that receive permission to open will provide their families with more information about their reunion days and partner schools if needed. The district will continue to provide updates on schools that have been approved to open and the first day of classes for students.

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Lee County School District has revealed that 13 schools in the district have met criteria and will open on Monday, October 17th. In addition, on Tuesday, October 18, 15 more schools will be opened.
The 13 schools cleared to return on Monday are as follows:
- Bonita Springs Elementary School
- Bonita Springs Secondary Center for the Arts
- Colonial Elementary School
- Diplomat elementary school
- Franklin Park Elementary School
- Gulf Elementary School
- Fort Myers High Academy
- Orange River Elementary School
- Orangewood Elementary School
- Three Oaks Elementary School
- Elementary school Tice
- Trafalgar Primary School
- Tropic Isles Elementary School
The 16 schools that were given permission to return on Tuesday are:
- Allen Park Elementary
- Buckingham Exceptional Center
- Cypress Lake High School
- Edison Park Elementary School
- Hancock Creek Elementary School
- Ida Baker High School
- J. Colin English Elementary
- James Stephens Elementary
- Lee Virtual School
- Littleton Elementary
- Manatee Elementary
- Pinewoods Elementary
- Royal Palm Exceptional Center
- Tanglewood Elementary
- Three Oaks Middle
- Villas Elementary
All school personnel who do not report to the above schools will not report to work on Thursday.
The school district is taking extra safety measures to ensure that staff and students return to school in the best possible conditions.
In order for staff to return to the school, the site must meet nine safety criteria:
- Reliable power
- Drinking water
- Professional assessment
- Leak sure
- Working climate
- Functional fire alarm and intercom
- Indoor air quality
- Debris cleared
- Possibility of serving food
Families displaced by the storm can enroll their child/children in a new school that better suits their current needs.
The school district is opening temporary student enrollment satellite offices to help. Offices are open Thursday, October 13 and Friday, October 14, and will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or until the last person in line is served. For more information, click here.
