Las Vegas, Nev. (FOX5) – Two Las Vegas teenagers have been sentenced to prison in the 2021 stabbing death of a girl’s father.
Aaron Guerrero and Sierra Halseth have been charged with murdering Daniel Halseth, 45, Sierra’s father. The murder happened on April 9, 2021, and he was arrested shortly after in Salt Lake City.
Guerrero and Halseth were found guilty of nine counts, including murder, arson and robbery, court officials said.
On Thursday, the two were sentenced to 22 years in prison.
According to Guerrero’s arrest warrant, Las Vegas police requested to check on Daniel’s landlord after his mother had not heard from him in two days. In the house on April 9, the owner of the house and another person found Daniel’s burnt body in the garage.
Guerrero’s mother told police that the two teenagers dated from June 2020 to December 2020, and that during their relationship, her mother said Daniel contacted them. Daniel told her that the teenagers planned to run away together and both parents agreed that the teenagers should have no more contact with each other.
Police found a video of Sierra and Aaron talking about Daniel’s murder days after the incident.
“Welcome to our YouTube channel… 3 days after someone’s murder,” Guerrero said.
“Wow!” Halseth said while laughing. “Don’t put that on camera.”
