ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – The Lenhard Family Light Show has a new home this year.
West City Park in Festus is now home to a light show synchronized to music that will get you in the Halloween spirit.
Last year, the light show drew crowds to Lenhard’s home in Pevely before traffic concerns were canceled by the city. The City of Pevely and the Lenhards worked together to create a freestanding exhibit in the park. The lights were on during the Peveley Christmas Parade.
With more than 66,000 lights controlled by 17 computers that sync information to the screen with music, the show’s new home this year is West City Park in Festus.
Through Halloween, you’ll hear popular spooky tunes, including This Halloween, The Addams Family Theme Song, and Spooky Skeletons. Backstreet Boys, Michael Jackson and The Weekend also make the list.
The Lenhard family is also working to enter the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest Halloween light display. The application has been accepted and they are awaiting the verification process.
After Halloween, the display swaps ghosts and spiders for candy canes and Christmas trees. The playlist will instead feature Christmas tunes as the show instead emphasizes the Christmas spirit.
You can find the show at 2232 Old State Highway A, Festus, MO. Performances run Thursday through Sunday from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., so listen to the music and enjoy the 48-minute show.
