Get a round of UFC predictions for the promotion’s next card, UFC Vegas 62 on Saturday, October 15.
The MMA world leader’s October schedule continues with another UFC Apex card from Las Vegas. The event will be headlined by a big match in the women’s flyweight division when fifth-ranked Alexa Grasso takes on sixth-ranked Vivana Araujo. The winner of the bout could very well be in line for a big matchup with former champions Rosa Namajunas and Jessica Andrade in their next bouts.
The card also features Octagon returns for veterans Cub Swanson, Raphael Assuncao, Misha Cirkunov and Sam Hughes. With all that in mind, let’s make some bold UFC Fight Night predictions for the winners.
UFC Predictions: 4 UFC Vegas 62 Fighters Will Get W’s On October 15th
Alexa Grasso (14-3) vs. Viviane Araujo (11-3)
Grasso and Araujo are two of the best fighters outside of the flyweight elite. While this match is not for the title, or even for a top contender spot, it is still extremely important to their championship hopes in the near future. A win by either woman – especially Grasso who has won four in a row – could put them one more big win away from the 2023 title challenge.
The pair are evenly matched and there is no one area where the other has a distinct advantage. That’s why we should expect a close fight that lasts all five rounds. However, the Mexican star has faced stiffer competition and knows what it takes to win under the big spotlight. That will be key to getting the W in Vegas.
- UFC Vegas 62 Odds: Grasso (-230), Araujo (+195)
- UFC picks: Grasso by unanimous decision
Nick Maximov (8-1) vs. Jacob Malkoun (6-2)
Nick Maximov is one of the first UFC fighters to be a product of the Nick Diaz Academy. Just like his mentor and his brother Nate Diaz, Maksimov is a cocky talent who thinks he can beat any man alive. Still, he’s a legitimate middleweight prospect. At UFC Vegas 62, he will look to bounce back from his first loss in the UFC and overall in May.

On Saturday, Maximov will face Australian Jacob Malkoun in a proven battle for both men. The winner remains a prospect to watch, while the loser’s narrative begins to take shape as the youngsters also run. This is a very big fight for a couple in their 20s. But in these UFC predictions, expect the Diaz Bros. fighter to get recognition.
- Chances: Maksimov (-125), Malkoun (+105)
- UFC picks: Maximov’s surrender
Jonathan Martinez (16-4) vs. Cub Swanson (28-12)
UFC Vegas 62 is a big opportunity for 28-year-old Jonathan Martinez. That night, he will face one of the best featherweights of the last two decades in Cub Swanson. A man who still defies father time at 38 years old. There are certainly advantages that Martinez will have on fight night due to his youth. However, Cub is still a very dangerous opponent after 40 career fights, and only elite talent has been able to give him Ls. Martinez is a big prospect, but he’s not quite a fighter yet who has the skills to beat a competitor like Swanson.
- Chances: Martinez (-205), Swanson (+175)
- UFC Fight Prediction: Swanson by decision
Raphael Assunção (27-9) vs. Victor Henry (22-5)
Raphael Assuncao enters his UFC Vegas 62 bout in dire need of a win. The 40-year-old bantamweight tennis player has lost four in a row, the last two of which were tough knockouts against Cody Garbrandt and Ricky Simon. There’s no other way to cut it, another loss will end his 17-fight streak inside the MMA world leader.
While Victor Henry is a foe who will offer a competitive edge over previous opponents, it certainly appears that father time has a firm grip on the Brazilian’s athletic career and is poised to bring it to an end. Five years ago, Assuncao would have made easy work of Henry, but this feels like the final chapter in his UFC tenure.
- Odds: Assunção (+295), Henry (-360)
- prediction: Henry by unanimous decision
