Las Vegas, Nev. (FOX5) – Recently, the Animal Foundation’s shelter has been the center stage for dozens of sick dogs and severe staff shortages.
The shelter provided information on the conditions of the dogs that had Canine Pneumovirus. With animal rights activists, rallies and news of severe staffing problems, we wanted to see how everyone was handling it.
FOX5 was able to walk through the facility with the staff, and the workers are doing everything they can to keep the dogs happy and healthy. Kali O’Neill is the animal welfare manager and she showed us the different dog quarantine areas. Everything looked clean and tidy.
On Thursday, the animal shelter said 73 dogs were showing signs of illness and 23 had recovered from the virus and were cleared for adoption.
“We all work here because we love animals, we have a passion for animals and animal welfare, so working with the animal welfare warriors who come to work to provide the best care to make sure , which they all care about,” O’Neill said.
Shelter has many animals that can be adopted. If you want report a stray dog that is injured, sick or vicious, you can contact animal control.
