FLORENCE, TX (KWTX) – The Florence Independent School District released students early on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, while investigating a possible threat.
School district administration was notified of the potential threat to students and staff and “immediately engaged in a coordinated investigation with the Florence Police Department to determine the credibility of the threat,” a district spokesperson said.
“Although there was no indication that FISD students were in imminent danger, FISD administration made the decision to release the students.”
The school district continues to work with law enforcement to determine the origin and credibility of the threat.
