A wildfire in the East County community of unincorporated El Cajon sent a large plume of smoke into the sky Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out sometime around noon in the 1900 block of Harbison Canyon Road, near Los Caballos Lane. The fire burned an outbuilding and several parked cars before spreading to nearby brush, according to Cal Fire.
Firefighters, however, managed to contain the fire quickly, and the spread to the vegetation was minimal.
Less than half an acre burned in the fire, which was fought by multiple agencies.
