BISMARCK, ND (KFYR) – The wait is almost over. 43rd Avenue is expected to fully reopen on November 11. As some sections of the highway are finished, they may reopen earlier than that date.
The newly designed corridor will have two roundabouts and sidewalks on both sides of the road. The city is still waiting for the delivery of some supplies, such as street lights. Landscaping and planting will be completed next spring. One thing drivers can expect with the new design is consistent travel times every time.
“Before, you might have a little bit of a delay, or if you drive up to 19th Street as a side street, you don’t know exactly how long it’s going to take to cross it and when an acceptable gap will open up,” said Gabe Schell, the city. engineer
The more than $18.5 million project began this spring.
