Cleanup efforts continue at the Williston home where explosives were found

WILLISTON, N.Y. (KFYR) – Williston Police say cleanup efforts are underway after nearly 1,500 pounds of explosives were found in a residential garage last week.

They say the scene has been turned over to the Williston Fire Department and they are working to make sure the area is safe to return home to.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are pending against Ross Petrie of Williston, who is charged with possession of an explosive device.

They say the process is taking longer than expected due to the amount of evidence being collected.

Petri’s trial is set for February 13.
