Bryan Avenue investigation breaks record for murders

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – The city of Lexington has officially set a new homicide record after a body was found late Friday night.

According to Lexington Police, they were called to Bryan Avenue around 11:40 pm for an unresponsive person in the area.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Fayette County Coroner.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

The investigation marks the 38th homicide in Lexington this year, officially breaking the record set for 2021.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Lexington Police.
