Body found at fire scene along Antioch Trail – NBC Bay Area

Antioch police are investigating a homicide after a woman’s body was discovered Monday morning on a trail in Antioch.

The body was found around 5:30 a.m. after a small fire was reported on a paved city trail north of Lopez Drive, between Gentrytown Drive and Contra Loma Boulevard.

Firefighters extinguished the fire, and arson investigators and police detectives arrived at the scene.

No suspects have been found in connection with the death or the fire, police said.

Detectives are working to identify the victim and are interviewing witnesses and residents of the area.
