AWC employees are certified by Oxford Business School

AWC Chief of Staff Ashley Herrington went to England to participate in the program

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Arizona Western College (AWC) Principal Ashley Herrington attended a certificate program at Oxford University’s Business School in England.

Ashley Herrington joined the ranks of Oxford University Staff Association Leaders Said business school for a certificate program called Chief Education Officer.

This professional development program helps participants learn from experts and each other to gain a better understanding of how to respond to the unique challenges they face in their positions.

Chiefs of Staff from around the world gathered for a week of reflection, discussion and debate with input from leading academics and high-level speakers, the AWC also noted.

“Participating in the Oxford Business School Head’s certificate program was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Herrington said. “It was extremely humbling and transformative to study with Oxford faculty alongside peers in similar positions with experiences representing a variety of political, business and international agency roles. As one of two experts on the impact and role of education, particularly higher education, I joined this program bringing internationality, this program allowed me to learn from other fields and to learn about the importance of a literate community to support business and industry, regardless of state, region or country.

According to AWC, this curriculum addresses the topics of governance, sustainability, leadership and corporate diplomacy, and supports the importance of networking and building culture through change.
