BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Bossier City Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team is investigating a pedestrian accident early Sunday morning.
When he is released, police say the victim will be charged with being a pedestrian on the roadway.
Around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Bossier Police responded to reports of a crash in which a man was crossing the street on foot at the corner of the 1600 Block of East Texas and Butler Streets when he was struck by a vehicle heading east on East Texas.
BCPD investigators say the man was not in a designated crosswalk when he was hit by the car.
The Bossier City Fire Department took the victim to Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport with non-life threatening injuries.
His condition is currently listed as stable.
Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the driver of the car in this crash, but a standardized field sobriety test was administered.
This is the second accident involving pedestrians investigated in the last 24 hours. Louisiana State Police say a dead body was found Saturday afternoon in the median on U.S. Highway 80 near Red Chute
The investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
