OPPO Find X2 Pro is, to all intents and purposes, the first real top of the OPPO range, a smartphone with high-end aims, advanced specifications and the aim of decisively raising the perception of a brand that is one of the largest manufacturers in the world ( 40 markets, 320 million devices in circulation and + 200% in sales), but which has recently begun to enter the minds of consumers.
The device spares no power: it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, has dual mode 5G connectivity (SA and NSA), is equipped with 65 W SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charging, offers a 120 HZ display and a triple 48 + 48 + 13 Megapixel camera with 10X hybrid zoom.
There are two versions of this phone, one made of ceramic and another with leather finishes, which however do not differ in technical specifications but only in look and external construction.
Before throwing ourselves headlong into our test, remember that Find X2 Pro will be available starting from 8 May at 1,199 euros. However, there is a very interesting promo: Who will register on the site www.oppopromo.it starting from 22 April until 8 May 2020, and will purchase an OPPO Find X2 Pro from 8 May to 30 June, uploading the proof of purchase by 10 July 2020, will receive a couple of OPPO Enco Free wireless earphones it’s a OPPO Bluetooth Speaker. Those who register online from 9 May to 10 July 2020, by uploading the proof of purchase, will receive only a pair of OPPO Enco Free earphones.
It displays the Find X2 Pro
The display is undoubtedly one of the excellences of this phone: the panel has a diagonal from 6.7 in with a QHD + resolution of 1,440 × 3,168 pixels and a density of 513 ppi. It has two peculiar characteristics: it offers a 120Hz image refresh and the sampling of touches on the touchscreen reaches up to 240Hz. In daily use these features translate into very fluid images and an exceptional response of the device to any type of input on the screen.
Il display is curved on the side edges and from its edge it is also possible to launch some functions through a real status bar. Finally, the front of the Find X2 Pro is covered by a sixth generation glass panel from Corning Gorilla.
L’hardware di Find X2 Pro
We like to define the Find X2 Pro hardware as “explosive”, towed by Snapdragon 865 processor with 12 GB of Ram and 512 GB of storage. The Qualcomm chipset ensures the smartphone speed and punctuality in performing any function, allows you to use multiple apps at the same time without apparent slowdowns and indecisions and, in combination with the screen technology with 240Hz touchscreen sampling, it also makes it a device of which gamers will have to take note immediately.
The only lack of the hardware section is the absence of memory expansion.
On the front of the interface, OPPO Find X2 Pro offers Android 10 running Color OS 7.1 which appears very renewed compared to the latest models both from the point of view of the order and organization of contents and menus, and from the point of view of graphics. It offers a sense of great pleasure in use, is able to simplify several steps and, above all, today it has a much more Western taste than in the past. We liked it a lot.
Many functions. We like to mention the ability to protect apps with a password and to clone the accounts of the main apps such as Facebook and WhatsApp. The “secure keyboard”That, when you have to enter sensitive information in some apps or systems, does not record the typing of the keys and disconnects the typing from the Internet so that not even by mistake our data can be stolen or disseminated.
The OPPO Find X2 Pro camera
Find X2 Pro is equipped with three cameras: a 48 Megapixel primary sensor (Sony IMX689) with 25mm equivalent focal length and F / 1.7 aperture, a 48 Megapixel ultra wide angle lens and a 13 Megapixel telephoto lens. This is a 129mm equivalent tele with F / 3.0 lens. In fact it is like having a 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid and, with digital intervention, you can get up to 60x.
The Ultra Night mode 3.0 covers all focal lengths with a maximum zoom of 60x, making night shots possible even with telephoto.
The video part is also very accurate: Find X2 Pro shoots videos in 4K at 60fps and offers Ultra Steady Video Pro and Ultra Steady Video stabilization, which work very well.
All in all, photographic rendering is excellent when shooting in daylight. The 48 megapixel optics ensures a very high detail. However, you can use pixel binning to better manage the brightness in perhaps not optimal shooting conditions.
In the evening, the camera remains at excellent levels, as shown by some shots that we publish below. We noticed some particular difficulties in avoiding blur in low light in indoor shots. In the sense that when you are able to perform a firm click, this is really a scream, but often you risk moving and blur (in detail, the photo of the cat has been redone several times for this reason). However, keep in mind that the release of the smartphone (May 8) is still far away and there will be numerous interventions on the firmware that will develop a photographic section that, without ifs and buts, is a candidate to enter among the best in circulation.
The audio of the smartphone
Well, very good the audio of the ear capsule, which always appears adequate both in volume and in acoustic quality. The system speaker is good overall and offers stereo music listening. Unfortunately, the 3.5 mm headphone jack is missing.
The 4,260 mAh battery ensures the charge of an entire working day. It should be emphasized, however, that in particularly complicated days in which the use of the smartphone should prove to be intense and above average, it is possible to use the SuperVOOC 2.0 charging, capable of charging the phone from 0 to 100 in about 38 minutes. Another technological gem.
Find X2 Pro wins three of our “Cellulare Magazine Awards“: For the functioning of the Camera and therefore for the excellent quality of the photos, for the splendid curved panel at the edges and equipped with the latest generation technologies and for l’hi-tech: it means that this top of the range is distinguished by a very advanced mix of technology, which starts from the new and powerful Qualcomm processor and passes through the interface, screen, optics, fast charging and the solutions used. A high-end device that aims very high.
The opinion of Cellulare Magazine: OPPO Find X2 Pro
A smartphone that is successful in every aspect, from the purely aesthetic one to its technological heart. An important step for OPPO to enter the segment of higher-end devices, those represented by a price that touches or exceeds a thousand euros, but which are able to return top performance and, above all, to integrate the best of what technology proposes at the moment. From this point of view, Find X2 appears to be spot on: beautiful design (but OPPO had already accustomed us in the past to numerous satisfactory stylistic solutions), even more “beautiful” hardware. Pushed, yes, but without experimental excesses that would have risked nullifying the many efforts. The idea that we have made is that it is a smartphone with a lot of power but also with its feet on the ground.
Of course, the display excels, especially in the management of blacks, which appear pure (the so-called absolute black) as well as the whole imaging sector. Of course, the videos stabilized in 4K, once brought to a TV that can support them, are really very suggestive.
Finally, there is still little talk about it but it will be the lead motive in the coming months, the smartphone is 5G, with the support of both stand alone and non stand alone modes.
Another very useful detail in use is the presence of multiple antennas This means that the smartphone can intelligently select the best group of antennas according to the grip of the phone, avoiding the signal being obstructed by the user’s hands and allows the best possible reception.
So, write down the date of May 8 on your diary. But from today to the release date, we will update you on all the firmware news and updates that promise to make Find X2 Pro the perfect top of the range.
